LIVE PERFORMANCE

Volteggi

Performance for Flute and Live Electronics (2024)

Performers: Tommaso Michelini and Alberto Bonora

Volteggi is a study on the relationship between space and music.

While music traditionally has very clear dimensions and boundaries, atmosphere is a chaotic system, deterministically outlined only on paper. A single impulse generates unpredictable effects, disintegrates, multiplies, and stimulates other elements.

Thus, with the aid of a granular synthesizer and spatialization devices, the melodic linearity of the flute becomes fragmented, lost, and confused. The effects accumulate exponentially, transforming music into a system as disturbed as the space around it.
