Piero Odorici, one of the leading figures in jazz in Europe, drew inspiration from the sculptures of the Palazzo della Mercanzia at the Civic Medieval Museum of Bologna for his composition “Ray,” dedicated to his friend and renowned Puerto Rican percussionist, Ray Mantilla, who was born and raised in the Bronx, New York.
Odorici is a prominent jazz artist not only in Europe but worldwide.
