LIVE PERFORMANCE

Voltage Controlled Entropy

Performance for clarinet and live electronics (2024)

Performers: Dario Boccato and Erica Rondelli

Voltage Controlled Entropy is based on the study of the control conditions that an acoustic instrument can have within a modular synthesis system.

Essentially, there is a compositional aspect that defines the architecture of the system, outlining the synthesis methods and how they interact in relation to the musician’s gestures, and there is an improvised component related to the real-time modification of the sound timbre. The combination of these two elements creates a sound environment that becomes increasingly disordered and unstable until it is entirely self-generating.
