The Civic Museum of the Risorgimento in Bologna is located on the ground floor of Casa Carducci, the last residence of the poet Giosuè Carducci, now a national monument.
The exhibition follows a detailed timeline, starting with the French Revolution and the events related to Napoleon’s armies in Bologna in 1796, and extending to the end of World War I.
The museum houses over 3,000 historically and artistically significant objects, including patriotic-themed oil paintings, edged weapons and firearms, uniforms and some civilian clothing, hats, sculptures, medals and coins, flags and patriotic handkerchiefs, liturgical textiles, newspapers, and posters.
